Bell Work: Happy Friday! Today we finally get to explore the constitution! But first, we take a look at another document! On your desk you will find a print out about Thomas Paine's pamphlet called "Common Sense". Reflecting on the events that you time-lined yesterday, discuss within your group why he may have wanted to write this. When do you think he wrote this (you may use your available text book and phones).

Task III: Declaration of Independence Analysis
- We will begin by translating some key phrases from the declaration.
- In addition to the announcement of American independence, Jefferson had three main goals for writing. When we view different passages of the Declaration of Independence we will use assigned colors to highlight the passages we read: blue for those passages describing the natural rights of humans; yellow for those describing what the role of government should be; and red for those that state the colonists’ complaints against the king.
