Bell Work: Happy Monday class! You survived your first Quarter Exam! I could not be more proud of the hard work and dedication I saw last week. Let's keep that momentum going throughout our 2nd Quarter!
Bell Work: Update your self-tracking sheets to include your Unit 2 Test (be sure to complete your reflection portion). In your journals, write about your thoughts on the Quarter 1 Exam: Did you find it easy or difficult? What did you do to prepare? How can you adjust this for next time? What questions are you still left with that need to be clarified? |
Learning Goal: The student will understand how the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation led to the development of the Constitution, and that the U.S. Constitution establishes the government and the principles upon which it is based.
We rounded our Unit 2 with understanding that our 13 little colonies were on their way to independence through drafting the Declaration of Independence! Well, now they needed laws to govern this "new country" that we would one day call America. Many of you may think we are going to be speaking about the Constitution- but that's not so! We will first analyze the Articles of Confederation!
Task I: Speak with your group for 1 minute about what you think Confederation means based on your current knowledge.
Task II: Cartoon Analysis on Articles of Confederation Image---- >
Task III: Place a copy of the Graphic Organizer in your Notes section of your binder.
